Artist - Tamara Gonda & Nancy French
April 24 - May 4, 2013
Abstract Expressionism: for Pepperell resident Tamara it is all about color, form, texture, shape and spontaneity. Tamara received a B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her M.F.A. from Cornell University.
Nancy French is trained as a traditional furniture maker at Boston's North Bennet Street School. In the past few years she has branched out from her traditional roots as a furnitureaker, and now works with salvaged tree branches and other found materials, as well as felted wool sweaters to create items that are either functional or nice to look at, or both. Additionally she make rugs, wall hangings, pins, ornaments, mittens and hats using felted wool. The wool comes from worn out and discarded sweaters, which I take apart and felt.
Stop by on Saturday, April 27 from noon - 2 pm to meet the artists. Light refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lawrence Library.
